Welcome to MasterLeague! If you are wondering whether to join now or wait, we recommend joining now. Here's why:
For the final month of the year, MasterLeague is free to join. Why wait to be part of New Zealand's oldest and largest pickleball league, using a proven format and a unique, intuitive points formula?
All players are in the draw to win a $100 paddle discount voucher from Pickle Power.
Results from each quarter are used to measure improvement in the next. The is not part of the points formula, however the most improved player each quarter wins $100 cash from Market Ready.
The points formula does not allow an intrinsic advantage to players who have joined earlier. Any advantage is purley by virtue of building a postive win/loss differential, or having more opportunities for a personal best. These are the two factors that count the most for your quarterly points.
The best player with a skill rating of under 3.0 wins a coaching session with Luke Addison from Addison Pickleball Coaching.
Anyone can join MasterLeague. Make sure you follow each step before you attend your first game.
Make sure you have created an account with both Global Pickleball Network and DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Ratings). These are free to join.
Go to the Playing Levels section of your GPN profile page to connect it to your DUPR account to enable registration for MasterLeague fixtures.
NB. You will be guided to do this if you register for an event (fixture) before completing this step.
Join the 2025 Pickleball MasterLeague league on GPN, with your $20 or $25 payable via PayPal or after registering - account details will be sent to you. You can select multiple ladders from the available list while signing up, or add them later. For example, future ladders will be added over time, including ones for the next quarter of the year.
NB. You can select your partner for the fixed pairs ladder while signing up if they are already registered. Send us a message for help - you can have both a mixed and same-sex partner for this ladder. Games are arranged as "challenges" rather than via scheduled fixtures.
Register for relevant events displayed on the MasterLeague network or under each ladder (or arrange your own pairs challenges at your convenience). Clubs may also put placeholder events under their own network calendars for visibility.
Ladders for 2025 include:
rotating-partners doubles (scheduled rounds at participating club venues - clubs and players can join MasterLeague at any time)
fixed pairs handicap challenge-based ladder - does not count toward ratings updates (nationwide - up to one same-gender and one mixed-gender pair per player per quarter)
full-court singles challenge-based ladder
skinny singles challenge-based ladder
